March 1, 2019. Nevada adopted the new Nevada Rules of Civil Procedure. This book contains the copy of them. Everything in red has been changed. It's been a complete overhaul of the rules. One of the rules that I like for family cases, specifically divorces, is the rule designed to save money.
If you are planning to sue someone for divorce, you can maybe avoid the cost of an investigator and a process server by getting your ex to accept service. They sign a waiver of service and that will save time and money. And the rules are designed exactly for that. So your ex or soon-to-be ex signs a waiver of service of process so you can proceed from there.
Talk to a lawyer about that because it can save you money.
